I believe that two things went wrong with this incident. The first thing is that the people were just inpatient and they are very selfish. Who really cares about a new TV? I guess they do. The second thing that went wrong was that the store did not provide security so the crowd went wild. This shows a lack of care for security on the stores behalf. I am not sure if this was a mistake or they did it for a specific reason. But this shows that the some of the people of the US are selfish and impatient.
I believe that the incident at Green Acres Mall was a perfect example of how some have become entirely consumed by the the consumerism around us. Wherever we look, we are pressured by the media into buying until we fill our hearts desire, but unfortunately too many have become so brainwashed, so indoctrinated by the the media, that they no longer know when it's enough and when it becomes ridiculous. I don't know about everyone else but I think that killing someone over a computer on sale is the most outrageous thing to do. And to think that from the thousands of people who barged into the doors of Wallmart that friday very few actually considered if a new flat screen TV was worth as much as carelessly taking a life. It is pathetic that people have chosen to no longer think for themselves but rather to allow the media to tell them what should be important in life and even how to live.
